January 29th Update

Hello Wrens Baptist Church...

Here is your weekly update and some vital information concerning the life of our Church:

Our deacons met this past Sunday to evaluate our status for our current COVID-19 protocol. Currently, we are in ORANGE. After much prayer and discussion, our deacons believe that it is best for our congregation and our community to remain in ORANGE through February 7th. Below are the highlights of protocols of the orange phase we are now observing:

  • Please refrain from attending if you have any symptoms related to COVID or if you are awaiting a test.
  • Please be prepared to go through a temperature check as you enter for Sunday Worship.
  • Please bring your mask and wear it as you travel through the building.
  • We still ask for social distancing when and where possible.

Children’s Church will be provided during the sermon portion of the service. During the transition between worship and the sermon, children 3yrs - Kindergarten will exit the organ side to the Fellowship Hall. Pickup will be in the Fellowship Hall.

A financial need within our community has come to our attention. Given last week's message concerning God's expectation for His Church to minister to its community members, the deacons would like to make the opportunity known to the Church. There is an individual in our community who needs their roof replaced. A licensed/insured contractor has inspected the project and has estimated the repairs to be approximately $6,000. The deacons would like to invite you to give toward this legitimate need. If you would like to love on this individual practically, then you can make a check out to Wrens Baptist Church (for: roof project). If you are giving cash, please mark your envelope for roof project. If you would like to use our Online giving/Secure Give App, please indicate that the gift is for the roof project in the notes section. Additionally, you may drop your check/envelope in any one of the giving stations located near the exits of our building by the church office.

As you give from your resources as an act of worship, there are five ways for you to do so:

  • The black giving stations located near the entrances and exits of our building.
  • Online at wrensbaptist.org/give
  • Through the app SecureGive Vision (you can download it on the App Store or Google Play Store).
  • Via mail.
  • If you have bill pay available through your local bank.

Now is an excellent time to subscribe to RightNow Media. It is a fantastic resource for your family. You will need to click this link https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Account/Invite/wrensbc. You can sign up and have access to thousands of great content. Also, there is a group watch for various small group studies for Sunday School leaders.

Continue to pray for our nation and our national leaders. Pray for revival in the church.

Children’s Church will be provided during the sermon portion of the service. During the transition between worship and the sermon, children 3yrs - Kindergarten will exit the organ side to the Fellowship Hall. Pickup will be in the Fellowship Hall.

In this email, I have included the prayer list, an Explore The Bible Sunday School Lesson, and Pastor David's Family Devotion.

Church, I love each of you. May the Lord bless you and keep you and may His grace shine upon you.

Pastor Carson

January 14th Update

Church family,

There are several items we want to bring to your attention this week.

With input from our Covid-19 advisory team, our deacon leadership prayed about and discussed the current increase in Covid-19 cases in our community.  The decision was made that we need to take a step back to the Orange Phase for a couple of weeks.  This means that for the next 2 weeks, we will not have on-campus Sunday School/Bible Study.  We do encourage classes to meet online as some have done previously or as a family unit through the Digital Lessons we will provide.

Our 11:00 AM Sunday morning worship service will be held on campus (or if you are not comfortable attending in-person, please join us online).  We do ask that you bring your mask and wear it while in the building.  Temperature checks will be done as we have been doing.  We will offer nursery and toddler care as well as children’s church.

The Church Council meeting which was scheduled for this Sunday has been cancelled and will be rescheduled as soon as possible when we move back into the yellow phase.

Also, church conference was not held last night due to quorum not being met.  We will hold church conference next Wednesday night, January 20, and ask everyone to please try to attend as we will be voting on the 2021 church budget.

  • Church Conference will be held on Wednesday January 13th at 7 pm. Please make plans to be present as we will be voting on the 2021 Church Year Budget.
  • Please continue to pray throughout the month of December for our Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions. Look for brochures with the various prayer emphases at the giving stations located at the front of the foyer and at the exits of our church. Please be in prayer for our international missionaries.
