WEekly Update 12.6.2020

Hey Church Family!

It's Christmas time, and I am looking forward to celebrating the birth of our Lord with you. As we do so, I want to encourage each of you to approach this season with joy. 2020 has been a challenging year for most of us. There is a real temptation to allow the effects of this year to grind on us--ruining our Christ-centered joy. My challenge to you this month is to operate out of Joy. As we gather for worship--singing, praying, and studying the word--let us do so with joy. As we go throughout our week, let us do so with joy. As we encounter others, let us bring joy.

As always, here are a few things to keep on your radar this week:

Church Conference will be this Wednesday, December 9th, at 7 pm. Make every effort to be there because we will be voting on the 2021 Church Budget.

Though our Lottie Moon Week of Prayer has concluded, please continue to pray throughout December. Look for brochures with the various prayer emphasis at the giving boxes located at the front of the foyer and our Church's exits. Please pray for our international missionaries.

Our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering emphasis will begin Sunday. Special envelopes will be available in the pews during the service. Our church-wide goal is $9,500. Please be in prayer about what the Lord would have you give.

Sunday, December 20th, we will have a Family Christmas Celebration during the morning worship service. We will celebrate through solos, congregational songs, and the Lord’s Supper. You don’t want to miss this wonderful event!

Due to a rise in the number of COVID cases in Jefferson County, the deacons would like to re-emphasize some of the yellow protocols as we continue this phase.

  • Please refrain from attending if you have any symptoms related to COVID or are awaiting a test.
  • We will continue temperature checks as you enter for Sunday Bible Study and Sunday Worship.
  • We recommend masks, but you are not required to wear them.
  • We still ask for social distancing when and where possible.

We want to encourage you to continue worshipping through giving. You have five ways to give:

  • At the Black Giving Stations near the entrances and exits of our building.
  • Through mail.
  • Through your local bank's bill-pay.
  • Online at wrensbaptist.org/give
  • Through the app SecureGive Vision (you can download it through the App Store or Google Play Store).

As always, Church, I love you, and I am praying for each of you. I have included the weekly prayer sheet in the attachment section of this message.

Don't forget to continue worship through giving. When we give, it a very practical demonstration of the trust that we have in God's ability to provide for us. We provide four on-ramps for giving:

  • We have black boxes located at the entrance and exits of our church. These boxes are secure, and you may give them in-person when you are on campus.
  • You may also give electronically by going to our church website (wrensbaptist.org) and selecting the "give" tab.
  • The most convenient way for you to give is by downloading the SecureVision app on your phone and following the simple set-up instructions to give.
  • Finally, you can give by mailing your gift to the Chruch office.

I hope to see you here Sunday!

Pastor Carson
